5 Things I Want You to Know About Me

In this blog, I want to share five important things about me that shape my professional and personal approach. These aspects not only define who I am but also guide how I interact with and support you.

1. Celebrating Your Successes, No Matter How Small

Therapy is a journey filled with milestones, big and small. I firmly believe that every step forward, no matter how tiny, deserves recognition and celebration. Whether it's a child saying a new word or learning a new gesture or a parent successfully implementing a strategy at home I am here to cheer you on. These moments of success fuel our journey together and reinforce the belief that progress is always possible.

2. Empowering Parents with Essential Tools and Information

As a professional dedicated to improving communication skills, I understand the crucial role parents play in their child's development. Providing parents with the right tools and information is not just helpful—it's essential. I am committed to equipping parents with strategies, resources, and knowledge to support their child’s communication journey effectively.

3. Committed to Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

The world of communication and therapy is always evolving, and so am I. I am dedicated to continuous professional development (CPD) to ensure I provide the best possible support to my clients. By staying updated with the latest research, techniques, and tools, I can offer innovative and effective solutions.

4. Welcoming Everyone and Every Type of Behavior and Communication

Inclusivity is at the heart of my practice. Everyone, regardless of their background, behavior, or communication style, is welcome in my clinic. I believe in creating a safe, accepting, and supportive environment where all individuals can express themselves freely and comfortably. I’ve been licked on the face, squeezed really, really tight and had my face held while a child studies my eyes intently. Anything goes!

5. Balancing Professional Insight with Personal Experience as a Mum

As a mother of two small children, I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to my practice. I understand the joys and challenges of parenting firsthand. If I don’t think I’d be able to find time for an activity or approach in my home life, I’m not going to suggest you do it either. I’m all about setting you up for success, not setting you up to fail.

Conclusion

These five aspects of my life and work are not just principles—they are promises to you. Celebrating your successes, empowering you with knowledge, committing to ongoing learning, welcoming everyone, and balancing professional and personal insights are the foundations of my practice. It is an honour to work closely with families, and I give it my all!
